ROCK`N`ROLL, NOW!

Maron Sho
The cyclic movement of music, which only at first glance reminds of a dog chasing its own tail, is useful at times, especially for the bands whose measure of opportunism is below the limits of uncritical fitting in contemporary trends. At various moments, from the 80`s onwards, the unusual Belgrade band Maron Sho might seem old-fashioned with its insistence on a composed interplay of guitars, complex songs` structure and complementarity of clear-cut female vocals – but, as it is, the band fits in the topical melodic hard rock variations.
It is really important for any band that they should offer something which will make them distinct from the rest; in that respect, this octet throws an elusive glove, having yet four female vocals on hand. In other words, the four girls who sing beautifully without being deprived of their visual attractiveness, have decided to make use of their musical talents whose catalyst is neither a sheer aspiration to personal show nor to a temporary catch in the sludge, but rather a materialization of a specific creative energy. It is an example worthy of, to say the least, much more thorough media coverage. In rare countries like Serbia, in which there is a programmed chaos on the scene, the freedom of creation is absolute, but you need to accept possible consequences in advance, among which the most certain is a constraint of your sweep – you have to be aware of the fact that the lack of opportunism makes the branch you are sitting on rather breakable. |
